Reggaetón is a mixture of hip hop beats, jamaican reggae rhythms, dancehall, salsa and traditional bomba. It comes from Puerto Rico, even though some people say that it first appeared in Panama. Nowdays it’s a symbol of unity between youth across American continents, esspecially in Carribean.
At the beggining reggaetón was some kind of rap, groups of people gathered in one place and singing about their daily problems and politics. But later on, reggaetón begun to change, lighten a little bit, talking about pleasures, sex. And that’s what comes along with the rhythm, which is overwhelming and makes you wanna dance from the moment you get to hear it. That’s why it’s best to play it loud to make the floor and walls bounce along with you. There aren’t any specific steps to learn. The movement is very sensual and sexy but strong and distint at the same time. Some would say that it’s very inpropriate and vulgar per say, too erotic, but it’s all up to you and your body!!

Na początku  reggaetón był bliski rapu i powstawał taka jak on, czyli na zasadzie dialogu freestylowego między dwiema grupami, a teksty dotyczyły problemów, zjawisk społecznych. Z czasem reggaetón stał się ,,lżejszy” w treści, zaczął mówić o przyjemnościach, seksie, miłości. Bo taki też jest rytm reggaetónu. Zapętlony beat, który w pewnym momencie chcesz tego czy nie, ale staje się prawie biciem Twojego serca, rozlewa się po całym ciele i nie pozwala na bierność.
